I read the article about the boy who who says he visited Heaven when he was in surgery.  You can click on the link if you hadn’t seen it.  I cried.  What an amazing place Heaven must be.  Plus the fact that he met his great grandfather and unborn sister.  I got chills, chills I tell ya!

If this Heaven is amazing, what will the new Heaven and Earth be like?  Don’t you want to know?  Does it give you the desire to check it out?

As part of  last week’s Bible Study homework we read a glimpse of King David’s life and how he lusted after a beautiful woman, Bathsheba.  If you don’t know this story, I’m going to make you look it up in 2 Samuel 11 through 12:24 …  for those of you that are not used to bible addresses, 2 Samuel is the book in the bible, 11th chapter, verse 1 through the 12th chapter, verse 24.  This starts with how he sees her.

In these verses, there is lust, sex, deceit, and murder.   Sounds like the makings of a top seller mystery.

For those of you that are brave enough to check out these verses, I’d love to have feedback on your thoughts.  If you don’t have a bible, you can always put the address in the search engine and you will arrive at many options, some with different versions.  For my simple mind, the New International Version is easier to read, although, The Message version puts it more in today’s words.

Things to keep in mind as you are reading:  Who is this woman?  What does David do to cover up what he did?  How and why did his plan fail?  Who was Nathan talking about in this story?  Did David make excuses when he realized is wrong doing?

  1. I love this story. “You are the man!” is one of my favorite quotes in the Bible. The older I get, the more I love the story of David. Talk about well-rounded.
