Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Hubby loves St. Patrick’s day.  His uniform is midnight blue in color, so there is no green anywhere.  However, he has his Irish green pins that he usually wears on his collar.

He doesn’t drink green beer or eat green eggs and ham, but he loves corned beef and cabbage.  Since I am off today, I am going to attempt to make this … LOL … my brain finds this funny … why?  Because I have no idea what I’m doing … but winging it anyway.

The temp today is going to be in the 60’s.  Sixties!!!   I am so excited!  Later on I’m going to get out and feed the grass and kill the weeds!  Well, feed the grass anyway.   Of course, hubby said, “Are you trying to kill the grass altogether?”   He may have a point, as the grass is mostly weeds … but, that’s okay, it can always be filled in or something!

There are more daffodils along the shed … so fun to see these things standing up and smiling in the sun.  Our neighbor (not that one, the one on the other side)  just came home.  They usually leave in their fifth wheel when the weather gets real bad.  He asked my hubby if I was out in the yard yet.  Hubby told him, not yet, but she’s itching to be!

So true, I’ve never wanted to do that before … probably because I’d have to help dad with his gardening job or I had to tend to the plants at my childhood home.  But now I wish I had listened and watched a little closer.

I’m hoping to plant a veggie garden … should be an interesting attempt!

Muttley has become extremely clingie.  I think he’s 12 yrs old now and has  asthma like spasms.  Right now he is sitting behind me in this chair.   It can’t be comfortable, since his head is on the arm of the chair.   He wasn’t pleased with me as I got out of bed.  He would have preferred that I stay in bed with him under the covers.  But he woke me up wimpering and yipping in his box, wanting out.

Well, I hope you have a great hump day and St. Patty’s day!  Whatever you do to celebrate, stay safe … I’d miss y’all if you weren’t here!

  1. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you as well. I noticed, btw, that you pointed out that Hubby doesn’t drink the green beer, but you never said you didn’t… 😉

  2. I make corned beef and cabbage (and potatoes) every year for St. Pat’s. Husband and I love the veg and oldest son loves it all. If it weren’t for him I’m make ham or ham hocks instead. I put the lot in my slow cooker with a bottle of beer and let ‘er cook all day. Excellent.

  3. GH – LOL … well, I can honestly say that I have not tried green beer. It doesn’t sound good to me. I’m a dark beer gal … when I have my semi-annual ounce.

S Le – Ooohhh, that sounds good. CB&C is in the crockpot and it smells so good!
