This is when the Pastors of our church thank all the volunteers that help make the church work. It’s fun to mingle with people and sit and have dinner with those you don’t normally get to sit and talk with.
This year was special as it is the last non-service time when we can mingle with our Senior and Founding Pastor. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, he is leaving our church to go on to a new area of serving. He was presented with a Lifetime Achievment award, however, before they gave him and his wife this award they talked about him. He is everything and more of what was said. He’s a part of what brought us back to church and back to God. He is the one that baptized me by submersion in Lake Tahoe. I know I’m not the only one who’s life he’s impacted as was evident by the standing ovation from the whole room.
Next weekend will be the toughest service. It will be the conclusion of the series he’s doing on marriage as well as the conclusion of his leadership in our church. As was said tonight, he and his wife will have left their mark on all of us as they went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable, accepted and loved.
I was only able to give him a hug, because if I tried to speak I would have cried, pretty much as I am right now.
I just want to say to John & Pam Jackson, thank you for your vision. Thank you for your leadership. Thank you for your guidance and love. We will miss you.
