My son is divorced, living in the midwest and has joint custody of his 2 children.  His ex-wife has been seeing someone, moved in with him, and then as of this morning had this man’s baby. 

What is good to hear is my son’s ex-mother in law, just let me know what a really good guy my son is.  I asked her why and she said, because he took the kids to see the new baby and bought a gift for his ex from the kids to give her.  Plus he has been a big support for his friend and his family over the loss of his friend’s mother. 

A whole lotta of junk went through my brain about the past, but … I just let it go, said thank you and that I was pretty proud of him myself.  That’s a hard thing to do … to let it go.  So much dirty laundry and all, but … it doesn’t matter.  So many thoughts about how the move, his ex’s affair(s), and ultimately their divorce happened.  It’s not relevant.  It’s not of any importance anymore.  It’s not worth frettin’ over.

What is important is that my children are adults and to hear that they have grown into the people we could only hope they would be, is really good to hear, especially when it is from another person and in this case, his ex-mother in law.

I was surprised that we didn’t have the turkey coma affect this year.  I don’t know if it was because the turkey was a natural no added hormones, etc to it from Trader Joes or what.  But, I’m real glad we didn’t, although I can’t tell you what we did, because yesterday is pretty much a blurr with all the cooking and eating.  Oh yeah, and visiting with the neighbor.  It was actually a pleasant visit, although I’m now watching her dog for the next three days as she’s going to be doing a craft fair trying to sell her jewelry.

She actually does really nice work on her jewelry and her prices are extremely low compared to others.

Black Friday, were you one of those determined people to camp outside the store at all hours of the night?  I saw on the news that one of the malls was opening at midnight and one by one the stores would be opening at different times during the wee small hours of the morning.  There is one thing to be said for not having alot of moolah to spend, I won’t be out there with all the crazy shoppers this year trying to get a deal.  LOL … I may just see what is online and see if my pittance can find something I want out there.

For those of you that are still traveling to your destination, I hope you stay safe all through your trip and back while having a super time.  Those that have arrived at their destinations, I hope you have a great trip.  Those that are staying home or visiting friends nearby, I hope you enjoy the moment!

One of our customer’s is having prime rib and crab cakes!  I told him we all were going to his house as it sounded way better than bird!  So here it is 6am, and I have nothing started yet.  As soon as I log off, I will get the stove & oven fired up, the kitchen blender/mixer whirling … yeah, kinda like the sweet factory in YoVille.  Except I won’t be in an elegant pantsuit with my hair all fancied up.  LOL … Okay, this is what I’m wearing … black slippers, white socks, black silky bottom long johns, pastel multi colored shorts and a white t-shirt.  Hair is pulled back into a ponytail.  I can’t find this outfit in YoVille, otherwise I would change my person.

Why yes, as a matter of fact I am.   LOL … Hubby is spreading his germs … and I’ve been fighting it all day!  So, tonight, I came home, had dinner and took cough syrup with codeine and a muscle relaxer.  Try playing Bejeweled Blitz while floating … pretty interesting.  Reflexes aren’t that great, but the explosions are spectacular.

I don’t have time to be sick.  Too much to do with getting our dinner ready for Turkey Day.  Next week, I am going to help decorate the church for Christmas.  So next week will be busy.  I’m excited and as long as I keep my head in the volunteering mode, I’ll be fine.  But then I get stuck in the woe is me mode and I plummet.  So, I’ll take the advice of my friend, HD, and take a deep breath and I’ll make it through.

I didn’t go to small group tonight, because I want to go to bed and try and get the rest I need to fight whatever is trying to attack me.  But, here I am … on the computer … if there are any typos or if I don’t make sense … excuse me … I’m typing under the influence.  LOL .. hmmm, can I get arrested for TUI?

I’ve talked about my neighbor next door.  The one I need to have the boundary talk with.  No, I haven’t had that talk, so I’m still getting visits and calls.  Poor hubby has been the one that has been stuck, since I’ve been gone or asleep.   Well, tonight she rings our doorbell in a panic, because she’s lost her cell phone and she’s all out of balance because of this.  In addition, she has a tooth ache and needs to get her tooth pulled.  I give her my phone to call her friend in Reno and she leaves a message for him to call her, so she knows what to do about her phone.  When she gets off the phone I asked her if she tried calling it to see if it rings in her car or somewhere.

So I call it, the first time, she didn’t get to the car in time.  I called it again and her phone is ringing in her car and she’s on the passenger side trying to find it by looking on the floor and under the passenger seat.  I go to the driver’s side, call it again and I look in her car and it’s sitting on the driver’s seat.  She’s been driving around all day with it under her rear end.  All I could do was shake my head.  Now all is right with her world, with the exception of her tooth, which is getting pulled tomorrow at noon.   Pretty sad I know her schedule more than I know my own. 

Well, I’m going to bounce off the walls to my room and climb into bed.  Y’all have a good evening!

Yippee, hoorah … oh goody … you know what that means … the start of my sadness funk  …  can we just fast forward to January 1 and be though this already?!?!?!

I know death is a part of life.  All things die.  These last 7 days have been full of mourning.  Tuesday my nephew’s significant other’s step-father dies.  Just a day or two after that, this same person’s brother-in-law dies.  Then Saturday morning our friend passes. 

One of our other friends wife is battling cancer and it is unknown whether she’ll make it through the next year.  One of my co-worker’s father in law is in hospice, struggling with the ins and outs of his disease.  The same co-worker’s mom is also struggling with her disease.  Our salesman’s friends wife is in the hospital fighting cancer.  She’s had chemo and a bone marrow transplant and she’s still not stable.

All I have to say … is … what the heck is going on?  Have I reached the age where this is a normal occurance?  Come on, I’m only going to be 51 … geesh!

It feels pretty strange.  I’m not a stranger to death as you know I’ve lost four people in my family (dad, mom, sis & brother).  My hubby isn’t a stranger to death either as he’s lost his mom and dad and step-dad.  I know all things die and we as humans also shed our earth suit.  It’s just odd to lose so many within a week AND to have so many fighting to stay for their lives.

I’ve just received news that  a friend of ours has died.  They were always good to us when we lived in Lincoln.  Their son was a really good friend of our son.  The mom has been sick for quite awhile.  Unfortunately her illness was too much for her body to handle. 

Both of their sons live outside of Nebraska.  Her older son in Wyoming and their younger son is at Camp Pendelton but was somewhere in the desert training.  I’m so glad that the older one (my son’s friend) made it there in time.  The younger one was able to call today around 3am so he could say goodbye.  A little over an hour later, she died. 

It breaks my heart that she had to leave her family.  It breaks my heart that her husband was so tender toward her in the hospital, showing how much they loved each other.  It breaks my heart that her younger boy wasn’t able to physically be there.  It breaks my heart to know how much she is going to be missed.

Through all this breaking and pain and sadness, I am so comforted to know that she is not going to a dark place in the ground.  This is not the end of her life.  She’s just going through a transition and heading home to her Father’s Kingdom to bask in His Glory, no longer in pain from her earth suit.

How do I know she’s gone to this place?  She is a strong believer in God and Jesus is truly her Savior.  So I know I will see her again and we can sit and talk like we did when we lived in Nebraska.

I regret not visiting with them the last time we were in Lincoln.  Time flies when you travel.  It just goes to show, that one never knows how long is left of the life you have.  So live each day as if it were the last.  Love and forgive each day as if it were the last.  Be grateful and appreciate each and every day you live, because it could be your last.

It sure sounds like the house will fold by the gusting wind.  The back patio is covered, in a makeshift way.  When whomever built the covering …. yeah, we won’t go there as it came with the house, but let’s just say there are a few sheetmetal panels that are now loose and are rattling like crazy in this wind.  The picture in my mind is of the Wizard of Oz, when all the things are blowing around in the tornado … I can see these panels flying through the neighborhood before too long.  I can’t wait for this storm to blow over – Sorry Utah, Colorado & Nebraska … hopefully it will be just a small roar when it hits you.

With the wind, there is supposed to be snow.  However, when the wind blows this hard, it usually blows the storm past us, which is totally okay with me!!!  I’m not ready for the white stuff to be flying.  I’m not sure I will be ready at all this winter. 

We caught a break yesterday at the doc’s office, his front office person (also one of his daughters) forgot to write it down in their book.  Poor thing had such a frightful look on her face when she had to tell us.  The nurse, another one of his daughters, knows we pretty much go with the flow.  So when we were told what happened to the schedule, we just laughed and told her not to worry, as they were real busy last month and we could understand how that happened.  We asked if they would change hubby’s antibiotic, since he is still not better and we left. 

Silly me, wandering around the store, waiting for the prescription, it dawns on me that I also needed a new prescription for my blood pressure meds.  I know, I know, I’ve already done the V8 slap.   So I need to refill hubby’s BP meds and take 4 pills, since his is so much weeker than my dose and call the doc’s office on Monday as they are closed on Friday. 

Our doc does a really cool thing for his UNmarried daughters.  He has a very large family, all girls except one boy (I think).  Usually during the Thanksgiving Holiday he’ll take his unmarried girls clothes shopping.  I was surprised that he would do that, being a doctor and all, however, he isn’t anything near the stereotype of a “doctor”

I hope your Friday is going well, we’ll be hunkered down in the front room with the gas fireplace going … I just love flicking the switch and you have a fire … I’m really glad they added a blower to this so the front of the house gets nice and toasty.

The other day, hubby crashed the computer … LOL … I really don’t know what happened, just that it wouldn’t work after he got hit with all of these pop ups all of a sudden.  I hate when you click to delete something and you don’t get the curser close enough to mark the box in your email and you end up clicking it to open.  Well, that is what happened. 

We had to call my brother-in-law, who built our computer for us.  Got his imput, then went in search of all the discs to fix the computer.  We found them and tried to do a fix, but it was stuck in a loop.  So we reinstalled and lost everything.  It is now working and I’m happy to be surfing the web again, however, our speakers weren’t working.  Everything I read, said that we had to reinstall our drivers … we’ve looked for that dang disc and haven’t been able to find it … LOL … until this morning … it was sitting right in front of me on the desk.  I finally took a second to read what was on the dang thing … and sure enough … the drivers I needed … I can be such a platinum blond at times!    So between installing the drivers AND plugging the speakers in the correct hole … can’t use the color code … I keep forgetting that … I now have a complete up and running computer. 

Sorry, HD, “Better than Sex Cake” will have to wait.  LOL … maybe next time I’m out your way, I’ll make and bring one to you and the wife.

I was such a zombie at small group on Tuesday.  I was real quiet and just soaked up what everyone was saying.  I’ve said it before, but there is one lady that has so much passion, love and faith in Jesus.   She is so free … I mean truly free … not a worry, not a need … she just trusts Him.  Wow, do I have a long long way to go in order to get a quarter of the way there. 

We found out recently that one of the churches up at the lake is going to merge with the church we belong to in the valley.  I’m really excited about that, although I don’t know why.  I know the lake church has been through an ordeal and it’s pretty cool to see what God is doing to bring them through their ordeal.

Today is our monthly doc appointment.  LOL … he’s not going to be happy with me, as I didn’t get my test strips renewed again this month, so no readings.  LOL … oh well, it wouldn’t be the first time he was not happy with us.  

They are forcasting a storm on Friday.    I’m glad I don’t have to be on the mountain on Friday.  It looks like the weather will be nice for the next week.  Our Thanksgiving plans are starting to come together.  LOL, that sounds like I have these great and wonderful plans set up, but … um … NO … I’ve decided to make dinner since it is so expensive to go out to eat and not have left overs.  Trader Joe’s has brined  turkeys.  I’ve heard about them and I bought one Tuesday.  I’m still working on what sides I want and what pies I want, but leftoevers here we come!  I know, making a 15-16 pound turkey for the two of us is silly, but … the house will smell so good!

I’m also thinking of  a day trip to the bay.  Driving to Sausalito and taking the ferry to San Fransisco wander around the city until it’s time to drive back home.   We haven’t done that in a long time.  LOL, I have yet to walk through the entrance of China Town … we always come in from the back streets.  I know, I’m a goof!  However, you know how my thinking trips go … usually stays in my head … but … one never knows.

I am so  happy to be off today.  I should be doing a zillion things, but here is my butt, in this chair, typing away.  I really should write a story.  There is a couple of stories that are pressing down on my head and heart, so maybe that is what is in store for me today.

So last night’s game between the Patriots and the Colts … the patriots were ahead, so I started watching Extreme Makeover in our room.  I came out into the front room and hubby was doing geneology research and the score of the game was 31 to 21, patriots.  I changed the channel to Extreme Makeover.  When I left the front room to go back to bed, I changed it back and the game was over, but it was the post game show. 

Not too long after, hubby comes down the hall, looks in and says … The Colts won!!!   OOPS!!  He didn’t get to see the finish.   I’m not sure if he even saw the reruns, as I was already blind with my glasses off and burrowing under the sheets.
