Woohoo – Friday for me … yippee!!

I’m so glad today worked out better than expected.  It was steady enough all day and I didn’t run out of things until 3:50pm … of course I made sure to get there before 7:30am.  Even with getting there so early, it was a good day.

Not much else new … just getting ready to watch Dancing with the Stars.  Can’t wait to see all of them perform.

Yesterday, hubby and I watched the recoded Two and a Half Men from a week ago.  I laughed so hard … I’m glad to see the writers of this show have continued to keep it fresh and funny, even with adding another character into the mix. 

Well, time for the Two and a Half Men reruns … It’s how I wind down from the day.  Y’all have a good evening.

God’s been knocking, … yeah, let me rephrase that … POUNDING on my heart this week.  I haven’t been to church in a very long time.  He’s pulling me back with several things that have happened over the last couple of days.  The knocks I’ve been kinda ignoring, however, the POUNDING with the cop’s door buster is pretty hard to ignore. 

I have always loved the story of Jonah … LOL … maybe because I am so much like him.  It’s good to know He still loves and wants me even though I’ve been in defiant mode.

I was expecting a storm and clouds and cold … but as usual, the weather in the Sierra’s cannot be predicted.  The sky this morning was the color blue like at the top of my computer screen.  The air was nice and crisp and I remained inside.   LOL … I know, I sould have gone outside and done something, but instead I watched some training videos, etc.

This is going to be a lazy weekend.  Monday can go one of two ways … breeze right through or become an absolute disaster!  It will definately be quiet.  The office manager and her husband are on vacation.  The salesman had an opportunity to watch the 49ers play this weekend with a season ticket holder.  Guess which one he chose!  So it’s me and one of the owners left at work on Monday.  HAH  is it too early to start drinking?

What are y’alls plans for Thanksgiving?  I invited my Vegas sis up, but it turns out her hubby has to work half a day on turkey day and all day on Friday.  Bummer … if weather is good and the pass is open, maybe we can make a quick trip to the bay area.   However, that is still several weeks away and who knows how I’ll feel then.

My belle is now a mom, okay step-mom, but in my family there are no steps!   But a mom to a beautiful eleven year old.  She’s tall like her dad and when I spoke with her the other day, there was a glimpse of my daughter in her.  LOL … funny how that works … even though you are part of a blended family, there are still things in you that can rub off on them.

My Belle doesn’t ever plan on having any children from her own body, but … if she did, oh my they would be cuties!

So, Happy Birthday to my oldest grand-daughter!  I hope you have a super duper day!

Is it really possible that thirty years ago I was told by my doctor, instead of checking out of the hospital, which I had been in for a week, he had scheduled surgery to get her out.  

Wow, that was an experience, being 20 years old, my husband at the time was at work and I was in the hospital not allowed visitors, except for him and my mom.  I had no idea that was doc’s orders.  Turns out my blood pressure was up, I had toxemia and since I would not stay off my feet and take it easy, the doc admitted me into the hospital.

They would take my blood pressure every 15-30 mintues.  One day I was watching a movie with a boxing kangaroo.  It was exciting – of course, anything would be exciting when you have to lay in bed and only getting out to use the bathroom.  Just that small bit of excitement, raised my blood pressure.  I was surprised they didn’t take the TV from me also.

A week later, my blood work and all my other tests were starting to look better.  The doc had said if things kept up, he would probably send me home, with the promise that I was on bedrest.  Unfortunately, my tests didn’t stay  good.  I took a turn for the worse and my poor baby was getting the brunt of it.  So, he scheduled an emergency C-section.  I told them I had to call my husband, so they brought me a phone (oh yeah, they took the phone away from me also) and had to leave him messages, since he was working at the jail and he wasn’t near a phone. 

All of this happened so fast.  I remember being in the O.R. getting the shot in my back to numb me .  That was the hardest thing, having a huge belly and being asked to curl myself into a ball so they can get between my vertebrae … LOL … that had to be interesting as it took three of them to pull my head one way and the other pulling my legs toward my head, the third giving me the shot.  But they accomplished the job. 

Since I was still a month away from my due date, the baby hadn’t dropped.  The doc had his intern assisting.  She was a very small skinny thing and she had to push on my stomach to get the baby to drop.  I felt so bad for her, she had the hardest part.  Finally … the baby was born.  They let me see her for a quick minute, then she was rushed off to be cleaned and all.

After that, I was in and out of  lolla land.  I remember opening my eyes and seeing everyone in my room.  Next time I opened them, it was my mom and husband.  Then I opened them again, and I was alone.  LOL …. I have no idea what the time span was, but it was pretty funny, in my brain.  

 Once I was alone, the nurses came in and I needed to sign papers so they could take the baby to the neonatal (sorry for spelling) clinic as she was too premature for their women’s hospital.  My foggy brain didn’t know what to do, and since I couldn’t read the words, I made the nurse tell me exactly what I was signing.  After my shaky signature, the paramedics wheeled my new baby in so I could see her before we were separated. 

I’m assuming they had spoke to my baby’s dad, since I was still in a fog for what seemed like 2 days.  My family was allowed to visit, now that the baby was born and my vitals, blood, fluids and all were starting to return to normal. 

I was finally discharged and my husband brought me to the other hospital where the baby was.  We get to her plastic bassinet and he’s unplugging all these wires.  I started to freak … what the heck was he doing … only to be told that  they were only monitors and nothing life supporting.  I finally get to hold my beautiful daughter.

Since I wasn’t going to participate in the Nanowrimo this month, I thought I would try and write something each day in November.  Well, what happened to the 3rd??  Hmmm, I guess I was busy cleaning the house, since hubby was at work. 

Ladies…. and Gents, I shouldn’t single you out…, do you find it easier to clean when your spouse/significant other is out of the house? 

For me, the answer is yes.  I can turn up the music and plow through.  When he’s home, it’s hard … I have no idea why it’s hard … it just is.  If I really think about it, I guess it could be that he would be in the room I needed to be in.  Then when he goes to the other room, well, then that would be the room I needed to be in … and the chase would go on until one of us gets fed up and the house suffers.  Plus when he’s home I cannot blast my music. 

I’ve actually experienced the saying in my jungle juice business.  Your why should make you cry.  Well, my “why” made me cry.  I realized that if I continue to do what I’m doing, there would be no way for me to do what I want to do.  It really hit me hard and I cried.  Then I laughed, because that’s what I needed to get motivated.  Wish me luck on this, I’m slowly changing my mind set so look out world!!

I only work 3 days a week, because work is so slow they are cutting back everywhere they can.  Sometimes I work 6 hours of each three days because of this.   What I don’t understand is why their attitude toward me is like this was my idea.  Hello … you are the ones that put me on this schedule!!

Yes, I enjoy being off, but I also need to pay bills or freds as we call them.

I just don’t get it.  What brought this on?  They called me looking for something that I had noted was under my desk.  This was months and months ago.  I’m going to remember?  I can’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday.  I can’t see what they are looking at to even know what the heck they are talking about.  Then while on the phone, I’m told, oh we found it, click.  *sigh*

When I am there, all we hear in the office is how bad money is.  There wasn’t a dang check in the mail.  Money sucks right now …  Alrighty then, let’s all go out and shoot ourselves in the foot!!! 

I know we are a small company, but we don’t need to hear everyday how bad the money situation is.  We know it’s bad, we don’t need to have it repeated to us daily.  When I get home from work, I just want to zone out and not deal with anything, because I know, the next day will be the same.

I definately need a new job.  Why is the “independently wealthy” job always taken!?!?

I turned them this morning.  Luckily we only have 2 clocks in the house as the computer and the TV boxes change themselves.  Oh yeah, I guess I had better turn my cell phone off and on again, so it changes.  Yeah, well, okay, it changed itself.  I forget, it’s when I go to another time zone … duh!  Too many new fandangled things.

My son just sent me a picture of him in costume … lol … he’s Beatlejuice!   How fun!!

Not much new.  I have finally raked the front yard.  The tree has lost most of it’s leaves, so I figured it was safe.  Today I get to do the back yard.   

Wow, November 1st … I’m at a loss for words … we are in the last quarter of the year … time flies faster and faster the older I get.

Those of you that watch football, I hope your team wins, unless it is the one playing the Vikings … lol … that will be an interesting game.  I wonder if we will get it on out here.
