Don’t forget to Fall Back

It’s that time of year, for those states that do the time change,  to move the clocks back an hour or you will be real early for whatever you have planned for Sunday Morning.

This is new – I guess I’m going to watch the hour turn back as I am wide awake thanks to insomnia.  Sometimes my pain meds make me wide awake, so here I am staring into the computer screen.

I’m glad I don’t have to work tomorrow.  I may finally fall asleep around 5am or so.  However, I do hope it’s earlier than that!

This morning I had a class at the church.  I had to be there before 8:30am so I could open the building and make coffee.  After suffering a bit from insomnia last night, it was around 3am-ish when I fell asleep.  I rolled out of bed around 7:30am, ate, got dressed and zoomed to the church.

Ugh – this has got to stop before my body clock gets completely out of whack!!

I’m hoping the weather will hold out a little bit longer as I need to get the leaves raked up or borrow a blower to corral them into a pile and put them in the hopper.  As that sounds a lot like work, it may take me a couple of weekends to accomplish that.  I’m not sure the weather will cooperate, but we’ll see.

Here we are in November.  I only have 3 more Saturday classes and then it will Thanksgiving.

We haven’t figured out what we are going to do for Thanksgiving.  Again, I can’t decide if I’ll cook or eat out or both!  Sometimes it’s fun to go out for Turkey dinner at a casino and then cook on Friday, so we have left overs for the weekend.  But, you know me, we’ll see, as I always make up my mind that week, when everything is gone from the stores!

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Momma’s out there!

So hubby was baptized on April 28th as scheduled.  One of the highlights of our marriage!  Then Sunday was the celebration at our house.  We had around 20+ people here…as our house is small, we all wandered out to the patio (back driveway which is semi-covered) and had a great time!  Many Thanks to my sister for marking the uneven cracks in the cement and for decorating the patio, as well as the new heavy duty card table and chairs!

After that we got to visit for the next couple of days, then she left Wednesday morning.  We left Thursday morning for Thrive, W O W ! ! !  It was an action packed 48 hours, but so energizing and fulfilling.  For those of you that serve in Ministry and/or work for a church, you definitely need to check out Thrive here.  I’m hoping we get to go again next year!!  We had a great time and great freebies!!

We came home Saturday night and picked up muttly from Sushi 4 Lunch’s house – Thanks again for watching our very spoiled dog!!  Then  we crashed the rest of the day.  Hubby had to work in his ministry on Sunday and I continued to rest as I knew I had a full week ahead of me.

I’ve managed to rake the yard, yesterday.  Working in the yard is something I enjoy, however, my back sure doesn’t.  I started paying for it yesterday afternoon, however, today … I am really paying for it.  I wanted to go to church yesterday, since I had to do some job work over the phone and after church I came home with several more things to take care of.  To make matters even more interesting, I had taken a pain pill around noon yesterday … so being at the 4:30pm service was quite a new experience.  Note to self – do not take a pain pill before church.  Although I was pain free!!

Today, I have one more call to make for work and an email – then hopefully I’ll be done for the day and can relax and maybe, just maybe, my back pain will ease up and I can enjoy the rest of the day.

So that’s it … My wild and crazy world is still wild and crazy … and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!

Again, Happy Momma’s Day to all you Mommas out there!

Happy Sunday

I have to have my picture taken today  … Have I mentioned how much I dislike having my picture taken?  Well, I have no choice as it is for work.    Since I don’t wear make-up, I was going to buy make-up, then I figured …. why?  As it would be for this one time.    So, hah … who knows how the picture is going to turn out.

Last night was the Parade of Lights in our little town. We didn’t go.  I spent a couple of hours working on the fallen leaves in the backyard and it took the rest of the day to recover.  Plus it was very cold and I could not get warm last night.  I could hear them, but the show in front of our house was interesting.  People didn’t realize that our street was closed during this time.  So they would drive by our house, then see the barrier and have to figure out how to turn around with parked cars on both sides of the street and impatient people behind them.  Demolition Derby was coming to mind.  I don’t know why they don’t put up a sign one street above, notifying them that the street is closed.  That would make so much more sense.

Unfortunately I don’t have all the leaves done.  The hopper was full, even with stomping them down.  I probably could have made a little more room, however, my neighbor came home … yes, that one …. and I didn’t want to listen to her drama de jour.  So I quickly pulled the heavy hopper out of the yard and back in its place then took off my boots, so I could walk through the back door.  I didn’t make it in time as she was taking her trash out … thankfully, I was half way in the house and only said hi while closing the screen.

Hubby is so funny.  I got a gift of cookie fixings, we just need to add butter, eggs & vanilla.  So he took the butter out last night and would check it every 10 minutes to see if it was soft yet.  Well, considering the house is set at 60 degrees, it would take awhile.  So he’ll probably tackle it today.

Speaking of hubby, the Vikings and Broncos are playing today.  He’s still sleeping … I’m amazed that at present the Vikings are ahead.   But … it’s still early in the game yet.  So after a quick check of the score, I’ll switch it back to NCIS.  Well, let’s see, after the 2nd quarter is over.  Well, that was interesting.  15 to 7, Vikings.  Maybe he should stay asleep … LOL!

Well, it’s that time to get ready … ugh!  Y’all have a great rest of the weekend.  What I was stopping in to talk about, I’ve already forgotten.  This getting old crap is for the birds!!

Conundrum

I had decided on this post title earlier this morning, then all heck broke loose!  Now, it’s evening and I’m sitting at the computer to write my post.  I have no idea what my conundrum was.  Yes, I’ve had several “squirrel” moments today.  Now, I’m exhausted

We put my niece on the plane last night back to Las Vegas.  I am going to miss her.  There were a few times she displayed the teenage ‘tude, but it didn’t last long.  She is a young woman that has been through alot.  As I told my sister, last night, via a text message, “She’s a good kid with a free spirit that needs alot of guidance.”   But it isn’t just guidance, it’s also the delivery of that guidance.

We had dinner at Carinos with her friend, then we let them wander around the outdoor mall until it was time to leave for the airport.  Prior to that we stopped at my friend’s house, so my niece could say goodbye to her girls.  When we got back into the car, my niece opened the card she was given and I laughed.  It was one of those talking cards and there were two voices letting her know that they weren’t going to let her go, etc.  It was pretty cool!   Even though my niece probably won’t admit it, I think the card made a big impression on her!  Thanks to my friend, you are the bestest!!

I have no idea what has happened to the time.  It’s been busy and crazy, but I don’t know why.  I just know we are closing in on the middle of August.  Wow, I’m not sure I’m happy about zooming to another birthday!

It has been a great week, although a busy one.  The staff was treated to a mandatory offsite fun outing.  We went to Reno for an Ace’s baseball game.  It was alot of fun!!  We lost, but we really won as far as getting to know each other a little more.  Unfortunately with being gone on a workday, it meant having to get the work accomplished in a shorter amount of time.  But truth be told, I wouldn’t trade!  I had a great time and look forward to the next one, whenever and where ever that may be.  I love my job!!

Hubby’s out watering the grass.  We’ve pretty much trades places this year on the yardwork.  My sciatic nerve has caused a great pain in both of our back sides.  But he’s doing a great job out there, mowing, weeding & watering.  My sciatic nerve still gets irritated, however, I now have a sleep number bed (thanks to one of my new co-workers) that has really helped relieve the pressure, while sleeping.  Now I only have a problem when I sit too long.  Although getting out of Red is a challenge also.

I didn’t have to work at the lake this weekend, which was a huge blessing.  There were things that came up today, that needed to be worked out and taken care of and if I had to worry about working at the lake also, I’d be a crazier woman than I already am.   Unless something comes up tomorrow, I’m going to take it easy.  Plus Sha Na Na is playing a free concert in the parking lot of the casino across the street.  Hey, you can’t beat free!!  There’s also free cake being served between 3 & 4pm and 8 & 9pm.  Have I mentioned how much I love cake?!?!?   Well, that’s the plan anyway … but you know me … my plans change ALL the time.

Party Animal

This week is a busy party week.  I have two Miche parties to do this week and I went to a Wildtree Party last night.   Those on the East side of the states probably know what Wildtree is, however, it is now coming to the West.

The main focus is grapeseed oil.  I first heard of the benefits of grapeseed oil through Melaleuca.  At the party last night, I almost bought a bottle of natural grapeseed oil to cook with or use in dips.  But then I tried the butter flavored grapeseed oil.   Oh. My. Word.  It tasted like melted butter one would use over popcorn.   So I got that instead.  Now I can’t wait until it’s here so I can start using this, instead of butter.

I love butter and I know, as a whole, is not good for you.  However, one of my friends had mentioned to clarify the butter (melt) and skim off the fat that will rise to the surface and use the remaining.  You can put it in a container and store it in the fridge.   He said it changed the taste and the fat was removed.  I haven’t tried it yet and as I’m typing this, I just might, since I won’t have the oil for a week or so.

Sorry, I went off track.  Back to Wildtree.  Wildtree is natural, no preservatives or msg and just plain good for you in addition to tasting pretty good.   You can check out the website here.  Yummy stuff, you’ll have to check it out or see if there’s a sales rep in your area.  Better yet, become one!!

Hubby’s job can make for interesting duties.  Today he has to stand by at a storage shed while the people get their things out of it, as he takes pictures and documents each item.  Why?  Well, let’s just say it has something to do with an eviction and a judge’s order.  Since he works with the judge … well, there ya go!   Thankfully it is a cooler day out, as his uniform is dark blue.

Tonight I’m supposed to go to ladies night for pizza and a movie.  But After the doc visit, I don’t think I’m going to feel up to it.  PLUS I think I’m going to take advantage of the cooler weather today and mow the lawn.  Always a body abuser!!  Last week I mowed the lawn and kept bumping my head on the low branches.  Let’s just say, that is no longer a problem!!

Surgery has been scheduled for Thursday, June 24th at 3:15pm.   I’m not thrilled about the time, I usually like to have surgery scheduled in the morning, so the doc isn’t tired, but, since we had to be squeezed in for June, we’ll take what we can get!   After research on the web, I know now what to expect.  Everyone says the same thing … P A I N F U L , but worth it as they were able to breathe.  Now if we could only fast forward past this painful part!

There is a person in Maine that took advantage of my personal June special of paying the shipping for their Miche Order.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.  Your order has been received and what I have been told, was shipped to your lovely state yesterday.   I’d say in a week it should be there, as it is coming from Southern Nevada.

Well, before my day gets away from me, I’m going to go.  Y’all have a great day and if I don’t yack at you before, have a great weekend!!!

Twos Day

We can be such creatures of habit!  I’ve had to cover for the office manager while she was on vacation.  Which meant I worked Thursday and Friday last week and Monday this week.  My body and mind are so confused!

Last night I cut the grass, since the disposal service will be collecting the green waste today.   I had my blue mask on so I know I looked funny as I could see my reflection in the window.  Oh Well, at least I could still breathe when I was done!

Last night I went to Arby’s to pick up dinner before I got home.  I was so bummed, their shake machine was out of order, so no Jamocha shakes. :-(  But I did get their apple turnovers.   Just not the same, love the new Jamocha shakes at Arby’s!!

Unfortunately, I missed my last night of bible study.  I had way too much to get done last night as I didn’t accomplish very much this weekend.

I’m again up in the air if we are going to Vegas.  There is part of me that would like to get to the meeting, the other part isn’t looking forward to the drive.  But then, we need to pick up a bench we are getting from her husband.  There’s also a possiblity that I may have to work on Thurs and possibly Fri of this week, I won’t know until the office manager calls.

Wow, only working a day a week sure has me feeling lazy!  Wouldn’t it be great to be lazy on the beach???   LOL, well, that won’t be for a while, as there is another winter storm hitting the Sierras later this afternoon!  I am so done with winter.  I know, I know, in a couple of months I’ll be complaining how hot it is in this house!  But it’s May!!!  The end of May to boot!!

Friday starts the monthly summer concerts in the park in the town I live.  That’s the other reason why I can’t make up my mind whether to go to Vegas or not.  *sigh*

Well, as you can see, all is the same here.  LOL  Hope you have a great day!!  I’ve got the house to clean, so I should get going!

Happy Mother’s Day

Sometimes being a mother isn’t always happy.  To celebrate a day for mother’s, sometimes isn’t a happy one either.   I’ve found myself in a pit this morning.  Sad and getting sadder.  Life right now just isn’t the way I pictured it and I’m somewhat sad.  Mad, really, but definately sad.

I do hope those of you that are moms have a great day.  I’m going to rip out the dandelions, destroying these weeds, just may help!  LOL, Ninja weed killer, that’s me!
