You did what?

February 28, 2009

I can’t believe I did it.

I joined Facebook.  There is a blog I read and they’ve moved to Facebook.  So, in order to read this blog, I had to become a member.  I’m not sure how I feel about it.  Another site to remember user name and password.  Another site to figure out.  Another site to visit … LOL … yes, I know, get a life!!!!!

I’ve found people I hadn’t seen in 10 years.  I feel like Mister Rogers asking, won’t you be my friend.   LOL … oh well.

I have done nothing in 2 days.  Now it’s Saturday and I’m on the road to nothingness again.  Wait, that’s not totally true, we went to Costco on Thursday.  We haven’t been there in a long time.  Since we were getting hungry, we had 1 hot dog, 2 slices of pizza, two drinks for just over $5.  My kind of place!!  Plus those hot dogs are HUGE!   Hubby and I shared the hotdog.  Next payday, I’ll have to get some for home.

Next week is a full work week.  I’m not sure how I feel about that.  I had mentioned to one of the tellers at the bank our company uses, that I could get really used to 3 days a week.  I should be careful what I wish for.

The office manager is going to Sacramento again next week to take care of her niece and nephew.  Her sister is going to Stanford for her surgery to remove the tumors.  I ask for prayers for her sister, Angella, and her family.  They are and have been going through a long journey with this cancer.  A hard thing for a 34 year old to have.

Well, I guess I’ll go, since my bum is getting numb.  Hope you have a great weekend.

Grace

What does grace mean to you?

Majestic

Driving home from work tonight, hubby and I pulled over at Memorial Point to snap this picture.  Whenever I see dark clouds with the suns rays shining through, I am in awe at His majesty.  God is in the clouds and by this picture, I don’t doubt that for a minute.

Above all else

I know you are to love God with all your heart, soul and mind,  AND above all, including spouse and family.  I’ve thought about that over time and didn’t know whether or not I could put Him above all else.

Think about it, if you were asked to choose between, let’s say, your spouse or God, which would you choose?

I would choose God.  He has sustained me and provided for me when I am disappointed, hurt, saddened … you name it.  I know He is always there and He is faithful in His love and promise to me.

However, one never knows what the choice will really be, until you are tested or confronted.

I was tested last night … I know my choice … what would yours be?

Another one

Today I ate way too much at lunch, so much that I am still full at 6:20pm.  I’m not sure this is a good or bad thing.  And still the treadmill is waiting for me to step on it, but … my rear is attached to the computer chair.

That’s my Sunday.  I did go to church, to the store and now I’ve been attached to this chair playing … SCRABLE BLAST … yikes … I know, I know, another dang game I’m addicted to.  Let’s see, now that’s three games, JT’s Blocks, Bejeweled 2 and Scrable Blast.

I guess I had better go read and expand the brain … I hear y’all chuckling!!   LOL, I’ll join ya.

Have a great what’s left of the weekend.

Provisions

I went out for a little bit this morning.  It is such a beautiful day with the mountains covered in snow.  I passed by the cattle.  It is calving season, so many people are out along the fence with their cameras set up, waiting to snap pictures of the eagles swooping in to clean up the afterbirth.

It’s so much fun to watch the babies chase after their moms.  I hear there’s another storm due in on Sunday night.  I know we need the moisture, but I’m pretty tired of the white stuff and this wasn’t a bad winter.  I must be getting old, the bones and lungs can’t handle the cold.  But in a few short months, I’ll be complaining about how dang hot it is in this house.  I know, never satisfied.

Isn’t that the way of us humans?  We can’t appreciate what we have in the here and now, now matter what is going on.  We may fuss about the weather, politics, traffic, people, co-workers, bosses, friends, family … but we don’t appreciate the now.

I’m going to try and appreciate what I have and not focus on what I need or think I need.  I’m provided for by a wonderful Father, so no matter what is going on in my life, no matter what problems that I think are huge, no matter what I’m trying to deal with, I know I just need to give it to Him and He will provide.  He’s already done so much for me so far, I can’t wait to see what He does next.

Keep the prayers coming

I’ve just been to Bill’s website.  His wife posted a comment that Bill has suffered his 5th heart attack.  He is going to have angiogram/plasty on Monday.  He’s in good spirits, although it is scary.

Thank you.

Now that’s how to start a Friday

Check it out – it will get the blood a pumping – Click here

I may have to listen to more Kirk Franklin songs.

Blog friend in need

One of the blogs I enjoy reading, is Bill Howdl.  He is a man with a great heart.  Unfortunately, not a physically fit one, but a very great heart and soul.  You see, he is dying.  He has many things going on, but he still has his faith and is lead by the Spirit.

I haven’t been to his blog in awhile, as I have to admit, sometimes it is difficult for me to get through his writing because of the emotions I feel when reading about what’s going on.  Today I was led to click on his blog.  All through reading his posts and some of his pages, this song was playing in my mind:

The song is “Word of God Speak” by Mercy Me.  Bill has asked for prayers and I am asking my friends to please say a prayer for him and his family.

Thank you.

Not a good day

News from the shoulder surgeon – hubby has to get an MRI.  His shoulder is not healing the way it should, so possibly another surgery in store for him.

Before he left for the surgeon’s office, I made him call our regular doc since he said he wasn’t feeling well.  After lunch we wandered to the doc’s office and it turns out, hubby has a 101 temp.  All this on top of being on antibiotics for a week.  So, two shots later, hubby is on the couch and quite wobbly when he stands.

I wandered to the store to get the prescriptions going.  I came home with fresh veggies and chicken and made chicken soup for our dinner.

Well, I hope I don’t get what hubby has.  I’m going to stay home with him tonight, instead of going to class, since he is pretty unstable as he tries to walk around.

Hope y’all have a better night!
