I felt it was appropriate that I add the snow to the site. (Yeah, I know, it’s hard to see it through the white.) It snowed in my hometown of Las Vegas NV. My daughter sent us pics of the snow falling at night in front of her house. My sis called to say she was driving in snow, which I said, what in the heck are you doing talking to me?
Snow in Las Vegas isn’t unusual. It just isn’t every year. When it does snow, the view is spectacular. Snow on top of the mountains in Red Rock Canyon is my favorite memory. Not surprising since Red Rock Canyon is my favorite place to visit in Vegas. There is so much more to Vegas than the casinos.
There are even places to ski, although during the drought years, they aren’t as thick a base or as powdery of snow as Heavenly. As I don’t ski or snow board (unless you count sliding down on my rear on a piece of plastic, sledding), it doesn’t affect me here or there.
The homefront here has snow on the ground, another threat of more snow, but so much beauty. I definately had the studded snow tires put on the truck just in time!
I haven’t been on a morning date with Richard for a week. Amazing how a week undoes the month of working out. *sigh* My excuse … it’s too flippin cold to get out of bed! Yes, I know, it’s a lame one, albeit a truthful one!
Well, time to fix breakfast, ya’ll have a great day!

Yeah, but it doesn’t snow often on The Strip! LOL
Studded snow tires? *jealous*

Well, you are so right. It’s funny how everyone flocked to the Welcome to Vegas sign for their snow pic.
Yeah Baby … Studded snow tires … I don’t do winter without them, especially going through the mountains every work day.

I could have used some studded snow tires to day … and truck.

You know, when we lived in Nebraska, we never knew about studded snow tires. It wasn’t until we moved to Northern Nevada that we had even heard of them.
I agree with you, in Nebraska, one definately needs studded snow tires! It is so cold there, the snow and ice remain forever!
When we lived there, I lost control of another truck we owned, in slow motion (at least to us, although it was only seconds) we kept spinning into the on coming traffic lane and landed against the curb. Thankfully, the on coming traffic was still a half a mile away stopped at a red light.

First I would like top apologize for the very bad spelling and grammar of my last comment. It should have read:
“I could have used some studded snow tires today … and a truck.”
I used to have a 1980 Z-28 Camaro that has absolutely no traction in the wintertime. My mom borrowed it once and did a 360 in the middle of a four way stop. Fortunately no one was going through the intersection at the time. Soon after that I bought some studs and it help quite a bit.
